Websites for renovation companies
Checked 15 September 2026
On a renovation company website customers usually do not book a time, they ask for a quote. A renovation typically costs thousands of euros, so before getting in touch the customer often wants to make sure the company is reliable.Trust is built by photos of completed projects, a clearly stated service area, trust signals the customer can verify and information on the household deduction. This guide goes through what to consider on a renovation company website.
What a renovation company website needs
The list covers what we consider the essentials, in the order customers usually look for them.
-
Contact details and a quote request form
The phone number and email address should be clearly visible, so the customer can easily reach the contractor. A simple quote request form fits alongside them.
-
The service area as a list of municipalities
The service area is worth stating as a list of municipalities in text rather than only as a map, because search engines do not read a map as content. It is good to state how travel costs are charged in the same place, because they often come as a surprise and do not qualify for the household deduction.
-
Reference projects
References are a standard section in this trade, and six to twelve projects is usually plenty. For each project it is good to show 2-4 photos and say in a few sentences what was done, how long it took, which materials were used and the rough price class.
-
Photo permission and what is in frame
Reference projects are usually private homes. Permission to photograph and publish is worth asking for in writing in the contract, and the location is best published only to the level of the neighbourhood. People, post and other personal belongings should not be visible in the photos.
-
Before and after photos
Before and after photos are best taken from the same angle, with the same crop and at the same height, so the change is easy to see.
-
Trust signals that can be verified
If the company has trust marks or certificates, they are worth adding to the site as links the customer can use to check them.
-
A price range
Many customers already search for the price of a renovation. It is therefore worth giving a price range on the site, for example "bathroom renovation X-Y € depending on size and materials". A plain request to ask for a quote does not answer that kind of search.
-
VAT in consumer prices
Prices for consumers must be shown including VAT, and the standard rate is 25.5 % (2026). The reverse charge in construction does not apply to household customers, and the site can mention that too.
-
Reviews
Customers often read reviews on the Google Business Profile, and Urakkamaailma ties each review to a job that was actually done. Google reviews must not be marked up as the site’s own aggregateRating, so it is worth linking to the profile and showing the star figure as text.
-
Calling hours and on-call service
Many customers would rather call than fill in a form. If the contractor is on site during the day, it is worth giving the calling hours next to the number. If the company does water damage repairs, it is worth giving the on-call number and the basis for the evening surcharge in their own section. If the company is not on call, it is good to say so, and the site should then not promise round-the-clock service.
-
Business ID and the prepayment register in the footer
The footer is a good place for the legal name, the business ID and the domicile, plus a mention of the prepayment register, which customers can check at ytj.fi.
Typical search phrases take the form "bathroom renovation city", "renovation company city", "tiler city", "waterproofing city" and "bathroom renovation price". For nearby searches the Google Business Profile matters more than the wording on the page, and a service area business can hide its street address in the profile and show only the area served. Separate pages for each service and location combination are worth making only if each page really has different content and local references. Otherwise Google may treat them as pages made only for search engines.
Quote form and trust signals
Three tables: what the quote form asks, what a quote marketplace costs the contractor, and how each trust signal is verified.

What quote marketplaces cost
| Service | Pricing for the contractor |
|---|---|
| Urakkamaailma | 5.8 % of the contract sum (VAT 0 %), not of materials. It covers labour, expenses and travel costs as well as extra work agreed on site. Jobs under 240 € are free of charge, and the fee is capped at 880 €. Above roughly 14,915 € the effective percentage falls; on a 50,000 € job it is about 1.8 %. The fee arises only when the client picks the company for the job. A price change after the fee has been invoiced is corrected if the change exceeds 200 € (VAT 0 %). |
| Urakkakulma, Remppatori, Dooxe, Kodinplaza, Remonttitarjous.com, OmaUrakka, Kotietu | All of them state that the service is free for the consumer. None of them publishes its contractor-side pricing openly, so the price cannot be compared. |

Trust signals and how they are verified
| Signal | What it is | Cost | How it is verified on the page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luotettava Kumppani | A Vastuu Group service that collects, on the company’s behalf, the details the contractor’s obligations act requires into a continuously updated report: tax debt, pension insurance, collective agreement and occupational health care. It also carries three years of financial figures and a credit rating. | 20 €/month, that is 240 €/year + VAT. Invoiced four times a year, the contract continues in 12 month terms. The report appears about an hour after the authorisation is processed. | The official logo is available immediately after joining, and it can be turned into a link to the Luotettava Kumppani quick check with the code Vastuu Group provides. A linked mark can be verified; a picture alone cannot. |
| VTT personal certificate, wet room waterproofer | Waterproofing a wet room is not licensed work under Finnish law, but the client always has the right to ask for a valid certificate, and housing companies and insurers often require one. It is issued by Eurofins Expert Services and takes about a year and a half of work experience, a preparatory course, a written exam and a practical demonstration. | The cost of the training depends on the college; there is no single published price. | It is worth naming the certified installers and their certificate numbers on the site. |
| Business liability insurance | Not required by law, but in practice expected in construction. It covers personal injury and property damage caused by the work, and the financial loss directly connected to them. The client may ask for a certificate before ordering. | Depends on the insurer; there is no published list price. | One sentence is enough: "Business liability insurance, insurer X, cover Y €". |
| Business ID and YTJ | YTJ, at ytj.fi, is the public register kept jointly by the Tax Administration and the Finnish Patent and Registration Office, where anyone can check the prepayment register, the VAT register and the employer register. | Free. | The legal name, the business ID and the domicile fit in the footer. It is good to mention the prepayment register in the same place. |
| The contractor’s obligations act | It binds the client, not the contractor. The duty to check arises when the contract is worth at least 9,000 € (VAT 0 %) or hired labour lasts more than ten working days. In construction it applies to every client. The negligence fee for the client is 2,100-21,100 €. | - | Housing company and business clients have to ask for these documents. If they are available as a ready link, the client does not have to request them separately. The act places no duty on consumers, but the information can still add trust. |
| RALA qualification | An independent statement by Rakentamisen Laatu RALA ry about the company’s technical competence, resources, insurance and handling of the contractor’s obligations. It is a different thing from RALA certification, which is a heavier audit of the management system. | An annual fee based on turnover: under 1 M€ 490 €, under 4 M€ 850 €, under 8 M€ 1,250 €, under 20 M€ 1,780 €, under 50 M€ 3,100 €, over 50 M€ 3,600 € and over 100 M€ 5,350 €. VAT on top. A change of qualification area outside an application is 250 € per case. | RALA provides the logos on its own site. For a small renovation company the 490 € annual fee is a significant cost, so the qualification is mainly worth it if the company bids for housing company or public work. |

RALA qualification
- What it is:
- An independent statement by Rakentamisen Laatu RALA ry about the company’s technical competence, resources, insurance and handling of the contractor’s obligations. It is a different thing from RALA certification, which is a heavier audit of the management system.
- Cost:
- An annual fee based on turnover: under 1 M€ 490 €, under 4 M€ 850 €, under 8 M€ 1,250 €, under 20 M€ 1,780 €, under 50 M€ 3,100 €, over 50 M€ 3,600 € and over 100 M€ 5,350 €. VAT on top. A change of qualification area outside an application is 250 € per case.
- How it is verified on the page:
- RALA provides the logos on its own site. For a small renovation company the 490 € annual fee is a significant cost, so the qualification is mainly worth it if the company bids for housing company or public work.
The prices are the providers’ published list prices and almost always exclude VAT. Check the current price on the provider’s own page before signing. The other marketplaces in the table do not publish their contractor-side prices, so they could not be checked. Your own site may not replace a quote marketplace, but no commission is paid on a job that comes through your own pages. On a 15,000 € job, for example, the Urakkamaailma fee would be 880 €.
How the quote request is attached to the site
The short answer
The quote request form is best kept on your own site. The phone number should ideally be visible at all times, and on a phone the bottom bar can carry two buttons: Call and Request a quote.
Step by step
- The form is best kept short, because every extra field adds to the number of abandoned forms. The contractor can decide which details matter most to them.
- It is good to have a link to the privacy statement next to the form. A separate consent checkbox is not needed if the details are used only to answer the quote request.
- It is good to say next to the form when requests are answered, for example "We will call the same day" or "We answer within a working day". The promise should be one the company can keep.
- The phone number in the header should ideally also be visible as text, because many people want to key it in or copy it.
- After the form is sent, it is worth taking the customer to a thank you page that says what happens next. Visits to that page also show how many quote requests have been sent.
On Kotisivukamu
On Kotisivukamu the form is already part of the site. You tell Kamu which fields you want and which address the requests should arrive at, and the form and the thank you page are on the site. Nothing needs to be installed.
The household deduction in 2026
Under the law in force, in 2026 the household deduction is at most 1,600 € per person per year, with an annual deductible of 150 €. Work bought from a company is deducted at 35 % of the fee, and wages at 13 % plus the employer contributions. The deduction covers household work, care work and the maintenance and improvement of a home.
A government proposal from June 2026 would raise the maximum to 2,100 €, the share for work bought from a company to 40 % and the share for wages to 15 %; the deductible would stay at 150 €. As of 15 September 2026 the proposal had not been approved, and the increase would apply retroactively from 1 January 2026 for the years 2026-2027. Because the figures can change retroactively, it is worth stating the year on the page and linking to vero.fi.
It is worth stating the four main conditions on the site: the deduction is calculated only from the labour, not from materials, supplies or travel; the company must be in the prepayment register; the deduction is personal, so a couple gets it twice; and the work is done in the customer’s own home, holiday home or the home of their parents.
The labour has to be itemised on the invoice, and the quote is worth showing both before and after the household deduction.
An example of a finished site
A renovation company site with the structure described above: services, references, service area, trust signals and a quote request form. It was built from a short description, the same way your own site would be built.
The example business is fictional. The name, the references and the prices are not those of a real company.

What a renovation company website costs
The price of the site does not depend on the trade: a renovation company site costs the same on Kotisivukamu as any other business site. Lead services, trust signals and insurance are separate costs and come straight from the provider at the prices in the tables above.
If you want to compare the options before deciding, we have collected the published prices of Finnish agencies, website builders and hosts on a separate page.
Renovation company websites: frequently asked questions
What should the quote request form ask?
Usually it is enough to ask for name, email, phone number, the type of renovation and a free description. In the description the customer can give the location, size and schedule, so they need no fields of their own.
What does a quote marketplace cost the contractor?
Urakkamaailma charges 5.8 % of the contract sum (VAT 0 %), not of materials. Jobs under 240 € are free and the fee is capped at 880 €. The fee arises only when the client picks the company. The other Finnish quote marketplaces do not publish their contractor-side pricing, so they cannot be compared.
Does your own site replace a quote marketplace?
Not necessarily, but no commission is paid on a job that comes through your own pages. The Urakkamaailma fee is at most 880 €, which is reached on a job of about 15,000 €.
Which trust signals belong on the site?
It is worth showing the Luotettava Kumppani mark as a link to the quick check, the VTT personal certificate for wet room waterproofing with the installers’ names and certificate numbers, and the business liability insurance with the insurer and the sum insured. The footer is a good place for the business ID and a mention of the prepayment register. The 490 € annual fee for the RALA qualification is significant for a small company, so it is mainly worth it if the company bids for housing company or public work.
How much is the household deduction in 2026?
Under the law in force the maximum is 1,600 € per person, the deductible is 150 € and work bought from a company is deducted at 35 %. A government proposal from June 2026 would raise the figures to 2,100 € and 40 % retroactively from 1 January 2026, but as of 15 September 2026 it had not been approved. It is therefore worth stating the year on the page and linking to vero.fi.
May photos taken in a customer’s home be published?
Permission to photograph and publish is asked for in writing as its own clause in the contract, and at the same time you agree whether the municipality and the housing company may be named. An address combined with a photo makes the home identifiable, so the location is best published only to the level of the neighbourhood.
How is the service area stated on the site?
The service area is worth stating as a list of municipalities in text, for example "Service area: Tampere, Nokia, Ylöjärvi, Kangasala, Pirkkala, Lempäälä", with the travel cost basis in the same place. The same list can go into the background data behind the page, in the areaServed field, so the text and the background data match. The Google Business Profile only allows a limited number of service areas, so it is worth choosing the main municipalities there.
Which schema.org type should a renovation company use?
GeneralContractor for a general renovator; it is a subtype of HomeAndConstructionBusiness. If the company sells plumbing separately the type is Plumber, and for electrical contracting Electrician. One type is enough, and the services can go in hasOfferCatalog.
May Google reviews be marked up as the site’s own reviews?
No. The star rating that shows in search results (aggregateRating) may only be based on reviews the site has collected itself. Instead, the site can link to the Google Business Profile and show the star figure as plain text.
