Welcome!
Payment received. We are registering your domains now, this usually takes a moment.
What the domain price includes
Over 400 endings to choose from, starting with .fi and .com. You can order a domain on its own, without a website.
A Finnish domain registrar
Domains are registered through NordName, the only Finnish ICANN-accredited registrar. Your owner details stay in Finland and Finnish law applies to the domain. Contact privacy and registry lock are included in the price.
DNS management made clear
We built the kind of interface we want to use ourselves. Updating and managing records is made as easy as possible. You can also change name servers when needed. We do not put ordinary operations out of the user's reach.
We move the DNS records for you
We detect your current records automatically. If need be, they can also be picked out of a screenshot or pasted text.
Managed in one place
The domain is managed in the same place as the site. You can edit DNS records yourself: A, AAAA, ALIAS, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA records are supported. Auto-renewal is on by default, and you can switch it off for an individual domain. Registrant contact privacy and transfer lock are included in the price.
DNS records
Getting the DNS records right matters. If they are wrong, email can stop working: one missing MX line is enough. When you connect a domain that is already in use, we detect the current records automatically: the MX records for email, subdomains, and TXT records such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
If the records sit somewhere we cannot see from outside, you can paste them as text or send a screenshot of the old provider's DNS view. Kamu reads the records from the image or the text and fills in the fields for you.
Common questions about domains
What does registering a .fi domain require?
The Finnish domain registry requires a Finnish business ID or personal identity code from the registrant of a .fi domain, so we ask for it when you order. A company registers with a business ID, a private person with a personal identity code. Other endings such as .com and .eu do not require this.
How do I transfer an existing domain to Kotisivukamu?
You ask your current registrar for a transfer key and unlock the domain, then start the transfer here. We copy your current DNS records across before the transfer, so the site and email keep working. You can also leave the domain with your current registrar and simply point it here.
Can I use my own email service?
Yes. You point the MX records at your current provider, whether that is Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or something else. If you would rather not do it yourself, we will do it for you. We can also handle email: you get forwarding to your current mailbox and credentials for sending from your own domain.
What is included in the price of a domain?
Management in the same place as the site, editing DNS records, automatic renewal, registrant contact privacy and a transfer lock. The search shows both the first-year price and the renewal price, because for many endings they differ.
Do I have to order a website at the same time?
No need. You can buy the domain on its own and point it at any service, or park it for later. If you want a site afterwards, the subscription starts only when you point the domain at the finished site.
Who acts as the registrar?
Domains are registered through NordName, the only Finnish ICANN-accredited registrar. The domain is yours, and you can take it with you if you ever move elsewhere.
