Websites for accounting firms
Checked 16 September 2026
A client relationship with an accounting firm is usually long-term, and business owners often compare firms on a few practical questions. An owner usually wants to know which software the firm works with, what the service costs per month, what expertise and authorisation the firm has, and how changing accounting firms works in practice. This guide goes through what an accounting firm website should cover, how to present pricing and software clearly, and how to describe switching accounting firms on the site.
What an accounting firm website needs
The reader is a business owner looking for an accountant, either for the first time or to replace the current one. They usually check things in roughly this order.
-
Who the service is for
The site should say what kind of clients the firm serves, for example sole traders, small limited companies, growth companies, associations or housing companies. If the firm does not take clients below a certain size, it is good to mention that too.
-
Services itemised
Bookkeeping, payroll, VAT returns, financial statements, tax returns and advisory are usually priced in different ways. It is worth presenting the services separately, so the reader can work out what their own case would cost.
-
The software named
An owner wants to know whether they will have to move from their current system to another one. The site should name the software used and say whether the client gets their own login. The most common systems are collected in the table below.
-
A "Kirjaudu" link in the header
Many existing clients use the firm’s site as their route into the software. It is good to have a "Kirjaudu" link in the header to the software’s own login address. The instructions are in their own section below.
-
Pricing, or at least the basis for it
Three models are usually in use: per receipt, per hour and a fixed monthly package. It is worth giving the prices, or at least the pricing basis, because many owners compare prices before getting in touch. The models are described in the table below.
-
Authorisation and KLT qualifications
If the firm is authorised or its staff hold the KLT qualification, the site should say so. It is good to link the authorisation mark to the Taloushallintoliitto firm search, so the reader can check it. The conditions of authorisation are described in their own section below.
-
Switching from the current firm
Changing accounting firms can seem like a lot of work to an owner. The site should describe the steps: terminating the current engagement, moving the accounting material and the balances, a possible change of software, and which side handles each step.
-
A named contact person
The site should say which accountant the client is assigned and who covers during holidays. Names and photos help the reader see who they would be dealing with.
-
Response time
If the firm has an established practice on response time, for example a reply within one working day, the site should say so. The promise should be one the firm can keep.
-
Client references without financial figures
Client references are useful, but using a client’s name and figures needs permission. More on this below in the section on authorisation.
-
The liability insurance mentioned
Professional liability insurance is a condition of authorisation. A short mention on the site is enough, for example "Professional liability insurance, insurer X".
-
Register details in the footer
It is good to give the company’s legal name, business ID and domicile on the site, usually in the footer. The reader can check them at ytj.fi. The link to the privacy statement fits in the same place.
-
The privacy statement and the processor role
An accounting firm handles the personal data of the client’s employees on the client’s behalf. One of the conditions of authorisation is that this processing is covered by a data protection agreement. The site can mention briefly that such an agreement is made.
-
The location as text
People often search for an accounting firm by town, for example "accounting firm city", even when the work would be done remotely. It is worth writing the location and service area on the page as text, not only on a map, and keeping the Google Business Profile up to date.
The search phrases take the form "accounting firm city", "bookkeeper city", "accounting firm for a sole trader", "outsourced payroll" and "accounting firm price". The last two are worth considering as pages of their own. So that Google recognises the business as an accounting firm, the background data behind the page should use the schema.org type AccountingService, a subtype of FinancialService, and the services can go in hasOfferCatalog. If the firm operates in several towns, each location page should have its own content, such as the local people, contact details and client examples. Google may treat near-identical city pages as so-called doorway pages.
Software, pricing and the contact form
Three tables: which software Finnish accounting firms run on and which of them publish a price, how the service is priced for the client, and what the contact form asks. The software prices were read from the vendors’ own pages on 16 September 2026.
Financial management software

Pricing models on the page
| Model | How it is calculated | Who it suits | What the page says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per receipt | A monthly base fee plus a price per receipt. Payroll is usually priced separately per payslip. | A client whose receipt volume varies by season, and a firm that wants the price to follow the workload. | The page should give the base fee, the per receipt price and the price per payslip, and what counts as a receipt, because the definition of a receipt easily leads to disagreements. |
| Per hour | An hourly rate, often different for bookkeeping, payroll and advisory. The financial statement may be a job of its own. | Irregular work, advisory and clean-up jobs whose scope cannot be estimated in advance. | It is worth giving the hourly rates and the minimum billing unit. A mention of hourly billing alone does not tell the reader the price. |
| Fixed monthly package | The same sum every month for an agreed number of receipts and employees, with any excess priced separately. | A sole trader or a small limited company for which predictability matters more than the last euro. | Fixed packages are the easiest to show as a price table. The package limits and the excess price should be stated clearly. |
| No price at all | - | - | Many owners look for accounting firm prices before getting in touch. If a price cannot be published, the page can give a from-price or a worked example for a typical client. |

The prices are the vendors’ own published list prices on 16 September 2026, and their VAT basis varies: Finago Procountor states its prices without VAT, which is 25.5 %, and Netvisor and the Finago PSA products state prices at VAT 0 %. Check the current price on the vendor’s own page before signing. At the same time check separately what sending and receiving e-invoices costs per invoice, because it is not always included in the monthly fee: in Netvisor’s Basic package, for example, a sales invoice is priced at 2.06 € per invoice. A large share of the software in this trade is quote-priced precisely for accounting firm use. It is therefore best not to promise a client a software price the firm has not itself received in writing.
Making contact, and the login link
The short answer
A client relationship with an accounting firm usually starts with a conversation. A form that asks for the details needed for a price estimate suits the first contact, and the phone number should be shown on the page as text. It is also good to have a "Kirjaudu" link in the header for existing clients.
Step by step
- The form fields are in the table above. The company form, the number of receipts and the number of employees are usually enough for a first price estimate, and confidential material is safer to move after the engagement contract, through the software’s own channel.
- It is worth putting the phone number in the header as text and as a tappable call link, and giving the calling hours. Many business owners would rather call than fill in a form.
- If the firm offers a free introductory call, for example 30 minutes, the site should say what the call covers and that it commits to nothing. The call can also be offered for booking from a calendar.
- It is worth adding a "Kirjaudu" link to the header that goes to the login address of the software in use. We do not recommend embedding the login page, because authentication is best done at the provider’s own address, which the client can see in the browser address bar.
- If more than one system is in use, the "Kirjaudu" link can go to a short page with one row per system. The client can bookmark that page.
- After the form is sent, it is worth taking the client to a thank you page that says when and how the firm will reply. The thank you page can also be used to count how many enquiries the form has brought in.
On Kotisivukamu
On Kotisivukamu the form is already part of the site. You tell Kamu which fields you want and which address the enquiries should arrive at, and the form and the thank you page are on the site. The "Kirjaudu" link is an ordinary link in the header, so it is one sentence to Kamu. Nothing needs to be installed.
An authorised accounting firm, and KLT
Setting up an accounting firm in Finland does not require a licence, and the word tilitoimisto is not a protected term. Authorisation is voluntary, which is why it is used in the trade as a mark of quality. Authorisation is granted by Suomen Taloushallintoliitto ry to its member firms, and anyone can check from the federation’s public firm search whether a company is listed there. Membership costs money: the joining fee is 500 € for a firm of up to ten people and 1,000 € above that, the membership fee is based on turnover with a minimum of 150 € a year, the service fee is 37.50 € per person in a firm of 1-19 people, and the inspection fee is 396 € for a single location.
The federation’s own membership conditions are a long list. The firm must be financially sound and independent. The person responsible for quality must hold a valid KLT or PHT qualification, or another expert qualification generally recognised in the field. Staff must receive at least two days of training a year. The firm must carry professional liability insurance of sufficient scope, and that coverage is verified annually. The firm commits to good practice in the sector, that is the TAL-STA industry standard. It accepts the federation’s supervision and inspections of its operations. Client material is retained for at least five years after the engagement ends. Information security and the data protection agreements required by the GDPR must be in order. The risk assessment, registration in the supervision register and staff training required by the anti-money laundering act must be done. The inspection is carried out annually in the autumn.
KLT is the expert qualification of the field, granted by the Tili-instituuttisäätiö foundation. It requires sufficient commercial education and several years of practical experience in financial administration, and the exam is taken once a year in September and October as an electronic remote exam in Finnish or Swedish. The exam fee in 2026 is 259 €. It is not valid indefinitely: a KLT accountant reports to the foundation on maintaining their competence and on their duties every three years, and the annual fee is 75 € excluding VAT. There are about 3,300 valid KLT qualifications.
If the firm is authorised, it is worth linking the authorisation mark to the Taloushallintoliitto firm search, where the reader can check it. If the firm is not authorised, the site should describe concretely what expertise the firm has, who handles each client’s bookkeeping, and what liability insurance the firm has.
TAL-STA also binds what may be said on the site. The framework for handling engagements has its own section on confidentiality and data protection, so a client’s financial figures, such as turnover, profit and payroll data, should not be used in marketing without permission. It is worth asking for written permission to use a client’s name, logo and story, and quoting figures needs separate permission. The same applies to client stories, social media posts and rows of logos on the front page.

An example of a finished site
The site of a four-person accounting firm in Turku, with the structure described above: itemised services, client segments, three fixed-price monthly packages, the team by name and a contact form. It was built from a short description, the same way your own site would be built.
The example business is fictional. The name, the people, the client stories and the prices are not those of any real accounting firm, and the authorisation shown on the site does not refer to a real authorisation.

What an accounting firm website costs
The price of the site does not depend on the trade: an accounting firm site costs the same on Kotisivukamu as any other business site. The financial management software, the membership fees and the insurance are separate costs and come straight from the provider.
If you want to compare the options before deciding, we have collected the published prices of Finnish agencies, website builders and hosts on a separate page.
Accounting firm websites: frequently asked questions
Should an accounting firm publish its prices online?
It is not compulsory, but it is often useful, because many owners compare prices before getting in touch. The easiest thing to publish is a fixed monthly package with its limits and excess prices. If that does not fit, the site can give a from-price or a worked example for a typical sole trader and a small limited company.
Should the software you use be named on the site?
Yes, it is worth naming the software, because an owner wants to know whether they will have to change systems. It is also good to say whether the client gets their own login: in Finago Procountor and Netvisor, for example, the number of users is unlimited, and Fennoa states that user accounts do not cost extra. If the firm offers several options, the site should say which one suits which size of client.
May a client’s name and figures be used as a reference on the site?
It is worth asking for written permission to use a name, and quoting financial figures needs separate permission. The TAL-STA industry standard requires confidentiality, and the same applies to a row of logos on the front page.
What should the contact form ask?
The form should ask for the company form, the number of receipts per month as a range, the number of employees, the current financial management software and the contact details. It is best to leave out the attachment field, because financial statements, bank statements and payroll data are safer to move after the contract, through the software’s own channel.
Does an accounting firm site need a booking system?
Usually not. A client relationship with an accounting firm usually starts with a conversation. A free introductory call is a good first step, and it can be offered for booking from a calendar if you like. It is good to have a "Kirjaudu" link in the header for existing clients.
How is the login to the financial management software linked?
Login is best handled with an ordinary link in the header to the software’s own login address. The login page should not be embedded, because authentication is best done at the provider’s own address, which the client can see in the browser address bar. If more than one system is in use, the "Kirjaudu" link can go to a short page with one row per system.
How should switching from the current accounting firm be described?
Step by step, so that the reader can see which side does what: terminating the current engagement and its notice period, moving the accounting material and the balances, a possible change of software, and the first month in the new system. It is also worth saying when a natural moment to switch is, and mentioning if the firm requests the material from the previous firm on the client’s behalf.
