reCAPTCHA and Turnstile on a Kotisivukamu site
Google’s reCAPTCHA and Cloudflare’s Turnstile are common ways to protect web forms from bots. They load outside code into the page, and reCAPTCHA can ask the visitor to solve an image puzzle.
How it works on Kotisivukamu
Kotisivukamu forms need neither. Spam protection is built into every form, and the visitor never has to solve image puzzles or tick boxes. The visitor fills in the form and presses Send, and the protection recognises messages sent by bots in the background.
A bot’s message is not passed on to your email or to other services. The bot is shown the usual thank-you message, so it never learns it was caught. Because there is no captcha, the form is as quick to fill in on a phone as on a computer, and no cookie consent is needed for it.

- The protection is on in every form on the site from the start. Nothing needs switching on.

Can reCAPTCHA still be added to a form?
We do not recommend it. A captcha makes the form harder to fill in for real customers too, and reCAPTCHA loads Google’s code into the page. The current protection is enough for ordinary contact forms.
Why does a bot get a success message?
If the bot got an error, it could try again in a different way. When it sees the normal thank-you message, it assumes it succeeded.
Does the protection cover every form?
Yes, every contact and quote request form on the site. If the form’s messages are also forwarded to another system, only messages that passed the protection are forwarded.
