Gumroad on a Kotisivukamu site
Gumroad is a service for selling digital products, such as training programmes, e-books, photo editing presets and recordings. Gumroad handles the payment and delivers the file to the buyer, so no separate online shop is needed.
How it works on Kotisivukamu
Every Gumroad product has its own sales page. The site gets a product introduction and a Buy button that opens the Gumroad product page in a new tab. The customer pays on Gumroad and gets the file by email. Kotisivukamu never handles payments or files.
It is worth writing the product introduction on the site in your own words, because the site’s text is visible to search engines and tells the customer what they are buying before they go to Gumroad. Gumroad also offers a script-based checkout overlay, but a plain link is the most reliable on a phone.
A personal trainer can sell, for example, a training programme or a nutrition guide as a PDF on Gumroad. It is worth writing a page of its own about the product on the site: what the programme contains, who it suits and in what format it is delivered. That page is visible to search engines, and the Buy button takes the customer to Gumroad to pay.
Step by step
- Create the product in Gumroad and publish it. Copy the product page address.
- Give Kamu the product name, a short description, the price and the address, and the site gets an introduction and a Buy button.
- Try the button in the preview and publish.
