Google reviews on a Kotisivukamu site

Google reviews show in the business’s Google Business Profile in Search and Maps. For many customers they are the first thing they look at, and they affect local search results.

Google reviews website: google.com

How it works on Kotisivukamu

The site gets two links: one opens the reviews in the Business Profile, the other opens the review form directly. You get the second link from the Business Profile admin, where you ask for reviews. The same link also works on a receipt, in an email or as a QR code at the counter.

We do not copy the review texts onto the site, because Google’s terms restrict storing reviews elsewhere. Google reviews must also never be presented to search engines as the site’s own rating. Only reviews the site has collected itself qualify. A link to the reviews is still a good solution: the visitor sees all reviews up to date and can leave one. Reviews can also be shown with a widget from a separate review service. Check the terms of such a service on its own pages.

Step by step

  1. Open your Google Business Profile and copy the link for asking customers to leave a review.
  2. Give the link to Kamu and ask for, say, a "Leave a review" link in the contact details and next to the testimonials.
  3. If you want customer quotes on the page, ask permission and add them as the site’s own testimonials.

Google reviews: frequently asked questions

Why do no stars show for my site in Google results?

Stars require the site’s own reviews, marked up in the background data. Google does not allow its own reviews to be marked up this way, and wrong markup can lead Google to ignore the background data.

Can the reviews be shown on the page automatically?

Not as a Kotisivukamu feature. Separate review services offer widgets that show reviews on the page. If you use one, it is added as an embed. Check its terms and price on its own pages.

Can I reward people for reviews?

Google’s policies forbid buying or rewarding reviews. Asking is allowed, and a direct link to the review form is the easiest way to do it.
