Zapier on a Kotisivukamu site
Zapier is an automation service that moves data from one service to another. You set up so-called zaps: when something happens in one service, Zapier does something in another. It has ready connections to thousands of services.
How it works on Kotisivukamu
Submissions from the site’s form are first saved in the Kotisivukamu dashboard, and from there they are forwarded to Zapier. Zapier acts as a go-between that takes the messages to a CRM or another service in the right format. In the zap, the fields such as name, email and message are matched to the service where the data should go: a new lead in a CRM, a row in Google Sheets or a Slack notification, for example.
Zapier is worth putting in between when the receiving service expects the data in its own format. If forwarding does not succeed straight away, it is tried again, and the status shows in the dashboard. The message is never lost, because it is kept in the dashboard anyway and reaches your email as before.
Step by step
- Create a new zap in Zapier and choose Catch Hook as the trigger. Copy the address Zapier gives you.
- Add the address in the dashboard as the form’s forwarding target, for all forms or just one. You can also give Kamu the service name and the address, and Kamu does it.
- Send a test message with the site’s form so Zapier can see the fields.
- Add an action to the zap that sends the data to the service you want, and match the fields. Turn the zap on.

Zapier: frequently asked questions
Do I need a paid Zapier plan?
Whether the trigger you need is available, and how many tasks you get, depends on the Zapier plan, and both have changed over time. Check the current situation on Zapier’s own pages.
What details of the submission reach Zapier?
The form fields with their names and values, plus which form and which page the submission came from. In Zapier they show up as ready fields you can use in the following steps.
Can I use something other than Zapier?
Yes. Form submissions can be forwarded to any service that can receive them, for example Make or n8n. Tell Kamu the name of the service and what you want it to do. If the receiving service understands the message as it is, no middle step is needed.
